    Speakers sensitivity

The subs are certainly the key, I wouldn’t replace the speakers until you have them set up and the crossover set at 80Hz and see how that sounds.

    Metal Building

Can you imagine all the rattling that will need addressing when the subs are put in there

    Speakers sensitivity

Jumping into this conversation a bit late but as has been said the sensitivity of your speakers are very normal my big concern is the roll-off at 70ish Hz is not. If you don’t have a subwoofer along with them you’re missing out on a big portion of the frequency range for even the most average of...

Sub Position and Speaker Type Advice

Hello and welcome to the forum, Ideally you should start a new thread for something like this but here goes: As far as sub position its very dependent on your space. without seeing some actual sound graphs from REW it would be hard to recommend. Generally a corner placement can boost the subs...

Does a sub supplement or replace?

Hello Dan, Normal practice is to let the subwoofer take the lows on its own as its going to to reproduce those frequencies much better than the speakers would in most casses

    Any advantage to stereo subs?

Ya, I still dont believe that any bass below 80Hz is discernable as to where it comes from the sinewave is just too large to come from a specific location in stereo. Maybe in a nearfield setting but certainly not in a setting where your sitting 10 feet away

    Any advantage to stereo subs?

Good morning Greg, Low frequencies below 80Hz are non directional so any so call stereo imaging of those frequencies would end up being lost in the room and not heard as left or right just a blended sound anyhow.

    Marantz 7000PM/U1B

I agree with Sonnie, cant really go wrong with Marantz. Amps really dont get worse with age and 20 years is hardly old for an amp

Should I expand to my HT to 6 height channels or stick with 4?

I would most definitely invest in a second sub before going down the road of adding more speakers to your height channels.

Should I expand to my HT to 6 height channels or stick with 4?

Hello, no. What you would end up doing and already may be experiencing is overloading the room and reducing your channel separation by having too many speakers. 4 height channels is more than sufficient in a home theater setup unless you have more than tree rows of seating.

Setting the delay of the subwoofer.

Part of the issue is that you are setting the crossover so high your likely causing multiple boundary issues (basically your vehicle its self is amplifying the upper bass due to vibrations caused by the frequencies above 100Hz).

Setting the delay of the subwoofer.

If this is being used in a car your delay would be negligible as your sitting near-field so it should be set to 0 or very close to that

    SVS pb13ultra

My PB13u from way back in 2007 is still running perfectly today. so as long as its been taken care of I would not hesitate in purchasing one but agree half the original price is a good starting point.
