2023-2024 NCAA Football

Nick Saban on Capitol Hill. At the end he says why he retired. :(

I was reading this last night... it's no doubt all about the money now. I know some will say it's always been about the money, but it really hasn't been... especially not anything compared to how it is now. It's going to turn into the minor league of the NFL, and until all the schools get on a level playing field, it will ruin the fun of college football.

Wow. Just wow.

I’m all for giving these kids that are killing their bodies and brains for schools, access to the riches that the schools are pulling in. But, there needs to be a better balance to the system in terms of how these kids can move around.

Obviously NIL wasn’t intended to create a pay for play situation….

I agree with your last sentiment… I actually think it’s gotten to that point for college hoops.

The kids thought process (and serious pressure from their parents) is "Who's going to pay me the most money?" and "I can make more money if I enter the transfer portal".

Agree with you and Sonnie. Obviously Coach thinks so, too.
I think it will get worse before there’s any move to turn it around, if that’s even possible now the cat’s out of the bag , so to speak.

Great interview... new commissioner? I doubt it, but Bret sure prodded him about his future.
