I got my new iphone X and it is activated now.. I was able to update the phone with all my contacts, games, etc via the icloud backup feature and had no issues.. Still trying to get the handle on everything.. So far, I like it.. I ended up getting a basic waterproof case for the time being which was sold cheap on amazon.. I will most likely upgrade later once I have more time analyzing all the cases.

Question.. My old iphone 5s still shows the phone option with verizon on the top.. Can this be removed or disabled? I am going to give the old phone to my kid to use like a tablet but I don't want them to use the phone calling feature. The phone shows my number but maybe that is the way it is.. Not sure. Any idea how to disable the calling feature? Or is it like that on old phones?

You can pop out the SIM card... that will eliminate cell service!
