So... issue #1... it was 20 degrees here this morning. And the X’s screen’s touch functionality was periodically freezing up. :-/

I did some reading and Apple apparently is aware of the issue and claims a firmware fix is on the way.

Hmm, I watched a freeze test review on the X yesterday. Obviously an extreme test but the phone didn’t fare so well. The reviewer submerged the phone in water and then froze it for like 12 hours. Upon removal the screen was very glitchy. I’m wondering if the X just doesn’t like cold weather environments?

Todd you dog...already got your phone. I ordered from Apple on pre-order night and it still has not shipped....today it finally changed to preparing for shipping.....hopefully by the end of the week or early next week I will have it in hand. Looks nice..

All kidding aside, I got totally lucky. I placed the order a day after the pre-order opening, direct through AT&T. The Silver 256 Gig phone had a super short estimated ship date and I clicked buy. Got lucky.


So... update... this time good news. I've found the battery can last about 1.5 days under normal use. Seeing as though I was getting about 2-3 hours of use out of my iPhone 6, I'm thrilled!

We haven’t had another 20 degree day... it’s back up into the 40s and 50s. But, no update has been released. So, I would assume that it hasn’t been fixed.

I am sure they will get a fix in but till then stay near a heater on those cold days when you need to check the phone.. lol.

So these are the three cases and glass screen protector I have. All pretty nice. Using the black middle one right now...might revert to the OtterBox if I get worried about damaging it. The clear case is pretty cool also.

None of the cases I have seen cover the front of the phone (glass), this includes otter box defender. You will need to apply a glass screen protector or risk scratching or breaking the phone glass.

I’ve never used a screen protector and have yet to scratch or break the screen. To me it just diminishes the beauty of the display. Most cases even the minimalist type I prefer provide raised bezel protection which is sufficient for me. My Apple Watch on the other hand has already sustained a small scratch which is disappointing.

Considering the X has glass on front and back, would be good to protect it.

Everything has been working great so far on the iPhone X. Still have things to learn as I am new to iPhone. Luckily I have a coworker who has one also and we share new things we learn.
