Beer :D

interesting. I've never seen that before, and my beer snobbishness is getting me curious

It released today. A 16.5% ABV blend of stouts aged in barrels for 11-15 months with cacao nibs and Madagascar vanilla beans :)

16.5%??? sheesh.. that's a monster

from yahoo,

"Samuel Adams released a new—and limited—batch of its seasonal Utopias beer that some states are already banning from shelves. While an average beer’s alcohol by volume, or ABV, falls below 10 percent, the new release is the highest naturally fermented beer at 28 percent, according to Forbes.

Only 77 wooden casks of the “extreme barrel-aged beer” were brewed this year, which also leads to its limited availability, Fox News reported. States that are already barred from selling the brew include Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Utah, Vermont and West Virginia."

oooo, if we zoom in to the class real close we can finally see the real Phillip in the image!!! ;)

The 2 best beers I have ever tasted were... Pliney the Elder, and Pliney the Younger. $8 a bottle, and restricted sales...was 1 bottle per person. Our local Concord, Ca. Liquor store would get it in once or twice a month, and it was sold out in minutes every time. The only other way for us to get it was a couple hour drive to the Brewery where you would stand in long lines to get in. Now I have a wheat allergy so I cannot even drink 99% of the beers I liked before.
Love Pliny! I was in San Fran this past July and spent a day at the Russian River Santa Rosa taproom. Pliny the Elder was amazing on tap!!!!

Pliny the elder is legendary for a reason

I just came across this “Beer :D”. How did I miss it?! You guys have been posting some amazing ales! This is going to be fun as I’m a huge beer fan as well. :p

My parents just returned from a 3-week road trip to Maine. I gave my dad a list of breweries to hit for me. Needless to say he succeeded and then some!

I scored a Pliny the Elder last week. Friend of mine was on a trip and was able the buy a six pack. Gave one to me and I'm looking forward to trying it.

Pliny is EXCELLENT in bottle form, but it's a completely spiritual experience on tap

This is probably the only Lagunita beer I like at 9.9% alcohol. It’s pretty good.
