Movie Roll Call: What have you seen lately?

Last night I watched Extraction 2 on Netflix. Some action scenes could be a little over the top but otherwise a solid film for fun entertainment and popcorn :T

I watched Sisu last night. Perhaps I wasn't in the right mood, but this movie didn't float my boat... a poor man's Tarantino film. It had a few moments, but, overall, I'd give it a rating of: silly.

@Michael Scott, I know you loved this film. Perhaps I need to watch it again... or I watched it through the wrong lens? Not sure.

According to Rotten Tomatoes (and Mike), I'm in the minority!

Watched John Wick Chapter 4 as planned.
2+ hours of glorious non-stop mayhem!
This movie fell squarely into the category of “guilty pleasure” for me.
If you want same "energy" movie - check out The Raid and The Raid 2. Whenever I wanna watch some good action without storyline dragging it down - that's my go-to  Watched both like 10+ times over the years
Might rewatch it again once I'm back from picking my new camping gear from local sports store https://gritroutdoors.com/ , kinda got an itch now :D

I've heard about those... never watched either. Perhaps it's time to stick them on the list!

Watched The Covenant and Red Eye.

Covenant is real eye candy... an enjoyable watch! Red Eye could easily come from the 90s. Good popcorn flick!

It's budget action done right, a lot of long shots and amazing choreography scenes with no shaky cam(almost). I think I've read in some interview that JW creators were/are huge fans of the director

Well this is funny... turns out I own The Raid. Just haven't watched it yet! :nerd:

The Raid is excellent. If you haven't seen if it's going to remind you of Dredd in how it's staged (they both came out nearly together, and used the same "going up a tower fighting" concept"

The Raid 2 is going to grab your by the throat and never let go. I like to call it The Godfather of action movies. INTENSE is the only way to describe it

I watched the latest season of Black Mirror on Netflix over the past few days. It's a very well made season with strong stories.

Anybody else heading out to a public theater for Oppenheimer this weekend? I’ve secured 2 tickets at our Dolby Prime Theater and am beyond excited for this movie.

Oppenheimer, no. I'm waiting for the disc. but Mission Impossible? that I'm going to see this weekend

We went to Mission Impossible last week, really enjoyed it.

While others tried to find the biggest screen and sound system they could find it on, we chose to track down the closest thing to a home theater experience as we could.

There's a 33-seater about 20 miles away that we've been meaning to try. Great cocktails, wagyu burgers, and a really cool vibe. A movie-lovers' theater. 21+, I didn't see a single cel phone or hear anyone chatting for the entire movie. Really enjoyed the movie and the theater.
