Wolf Man had its moments.. milquetoast mostly.. did not hold a candle to Invisible Man The Last Showgirl was really brilliant. Stunning.

Nosferatu is certainly not everyone's jam. My wife and I absolutely loved it. we did the 35mm print on a sold-out night. such a fresh and original take on that old story. just pure magic. but my wife and I love everything Eggers does. Bjork and her daughter in Northman. ah... the best. we were in heaven. Sure no Tom Waits in Nosferatu like Dracula but.. maybe his next film.Friday night I went and caught Nosferatu in the theater. Huge disappointment. I chose this over the Bob Dylan film because I'd heard about the cinematography. I didn't think anything about it was overly well executed or noteworthy. It was a whole lot of meh with an occasional jump scare. Eggers seems to have made the same movie 8 times now. The Witch was fine, The Northman was rather boring. He is officially walking a very fine line between "a very distinct visual style" and "one-trick pony". I'd much rather watch Coppola's Dracula.
Yesterday, as a cleanser, we went and saw The Brutalist, which I've been excited for since first seeing the trailer last fall. Even at 3 1/2 hours, this was remarkable. There were a few loose ends that weren't tied up, and the song during the end credits was completely out of left field, but I think the execution of this film was incredible. The visual aesthetic, the score, the sound design, and editing were all spot on. The story and performances were great. The pre-intermission acts were a notch about the post-intermission, but that's not to say the second half was not good. I thought this was a fantastic film and will be excited to watch again in my theater.
yep.it was a fun movie, greatly enjoyed it as well![]()
Checked this out a few nights ago. Let's say the film itself was "interesting". The A/V quality was excellent. I did really enjoy it and definitely recommend on it's A/V merits alone, as long as you're not opposed to some over-the-top violence.
Watched Dredd on 4K last night. What an experience!!! The hallucinogenic scenes during the drug use looked incredible on the OLED and the Atmos track was demo worthy from the start. Plus the story itself was excellent as well if you’re a comic fan. Absolute
That movie is reference material IMO. Fantastic on both A/V fronts. It’s also quite the adrenaline rush pretty much throughout the entire movie.Watched Dredd on 4K last night. What an experience!!! I enjoyed Glass Onion quite a bit. Knive’s Out was also pretty good.I watched these two on Netflix last night.
