Pioneer Elite VSX-LX505 Owners Thread

JStewart: I followed a similar type of guide, which was for stereo only, but I made the corrections for all 5 speakers - still got that error message. I will look at the one you provided too, thanks.

If you run into the same or another problem, I’d suggest you create another thread for help with a Dirac problem and include a screenshot of the Dirac calibration screen with it.
Good luck. 👍

Wow, now it worked! I done the measurement for 9 spots, thank you!

Still, I have the same problem at exporting filters as previously: after finishing exporting the 3 filters (after each one I got the message: successfully exported to Pioneer LX305), still I dont have a successfuly finished message, or ok, or something to end the calibration procedure. I am left at same filter export section and I have the option to go back to filter design, or re-export the filters and replacing the existing (already exported) filters...Why is that?
Additionally, there is no mentioning of anything related to Dirac Live in the menu from Pioneer settings.

I did disable Avast antivirus completely and Windows defender firewalls prior to running Dirac Live measuring..

What did I do wrong?

Note: right, I will open another thread on this issue.

That’s expected behavior from the Dirac app.

Interesting. I’ve not owned a pioneer so I don’t have an answer, but there seems to be a clue as to how to engage a Dirac filter on page 173 of the user manual here:

You’d think the manual would be a bit more user friendly.
Perhaps one of the other owners subscribed to this thread will provide the answer if you still need it.

In Pioneer305 manual under the same section indicated by you for Pioneer505, they indicate the same steps - the problem being that I don't find/have Room equaliser, nor Dirac Live, in the menu of Pioneer 305 settings...very strange. So there is no mentioning of any filter to choose.

Also, in the menu I tried to switch to the Initial setup section, but all I got was a blank screen - probably as the receiver was already set? Maybe to restart the setup (and get to the room eq/filters screen) I should first access the factory reset section, but this will erase all settings from the receiver...

Wish I could help. Hopefully someone else can. You mentioned a reset, but you may first also want to be sure it’s running the latest firmware if you’ve not already done so.
Good luck. :)

I did the firmware update prior to running the calibration.
Come to think of it, why would a reset help with finding those filters? If they are somewhere, invisible for me, and they have been applied (the sound does seem a bit different - better - then before the calibration), then this would erase them as all other settings.

I don't know what to do.
