What is that center you have... it's on its side you know. :sarcastic:

I gotta get a better pic. This is from my most recent video.

Well, now I know. *looks again* You're right, it is, isn't it! :nerd:

Off-axis lobing issues are why we don't like tipped-over speakers. This problem exists around 30 degrees out. I am sitting front and center, on-axis, so not a problem. Placing the speaker vertically puts it closer to the floor, which would cause some real problems.

We need to get you a flash! I have pics of the CCC if you'd like to borrow one. :T

Here you go, brother!

Definitive Technology BP20

Here’s something funny. I’ve been using these Definitive Technology BP20s in my 2ch system for about 2 years now, and it was pretty much exactly 1 year ago this week I put the Triads in the theater. I have been so incredibly pleased with the sound in both rooms. Happier than I’ve ever been.

Just now, because of this thread, I started doing some research into the BP20s and discovered that they use ScanSpeak/VIFA drivers, just like the Triads. I knew that’s what was in the Triads because I had to locate and swap out a couple tweeters on one of the pairs, but never looked in to what was in the Def Techs.

Funny! No wonder I like them both!

Nice mains Gents!! Here are the Revels (F228Be & C426Be) I picked up a couple months ago:

I have Klipsch RF7 series 3's up front that I purchased about a year ago. 1 year of payments left. These are the only piece of equipment I have that I purchased new. I really like them. The center is an old RC-7 from about 2004-2005.

Nothing fancy, Elac Debut 5.2 across the front. Small Def Tech sub has been replaced with RSL Speedwoofer 10s. Clutter on the coffee table is scientifically arranged to diffuse reflected sound energy.:neener:

Lots of nice systems... thanks for all the pics... love them.

I noticed that you have your subs facing each other. Did that position help with in room EQ or was there another reason for the configuration?
I have always tried various configurations to get the best pre-EQ'd response. I've seen subs firing at one another work well in some rooms. It's pretty neat to take two subs and as you move them closer together, see how the measurements change.

As sub bass is omnidirectional, it doesnt really matter where they are pointed, only where their acoustic center is located relative to the room. However my Seaton Submersive HP subwoofers are bipolar with two 15" active drivers on opposing ends @RandyR. That puts the acoustic center of each sub in the middle of the cabinet. The four subs are placed with cabinet centers at 25% and 75% of the front and rear walls.

It can indeed make a difference... unless it's down-firing. When you face it out from the wall the driver can move the length of the box. I was able to get a different response with all four facing positions with my SB16-Ultra even in the same footprint because each direction changed the distance from one wall or another. It's not always drastic, but it's definitely different.
