The Official JTR Speakers Loudspeaker Discussion Thread!

Agree, I wasn't worried. Just a statement that LOUD does not seem as LOUD when it is so clean. Some might easily overdo the volume if unaware of this.

Jeff had it under control :T

Peaks near 130dB!! I'm very impressed that those speakers could even reach that cleanly : )

New things on the horizon for JTR Speakers. Keep your eyes here for updates!

SOWK ‘s HT is outstanding, as are Jeff’s products! What a great combination.

Agreed. Wow! So cool and just an amazing set up. My single CAP 2400ULF blows me away. Cannot imagine what all those 4000s would be like!

In case you've missed it, here's another of Youthman's reviews of JTR products. This one is Jeff's personal setup.

@Jack1949, that system is so much fun! Excellent sound and video.

No doubt those JTRs sound awesome.

Dennis and I have witnessed their evolution over recent years from dynamite HT speakers to first-rate two-channel-system worthiness. In other words, REFINED as well as loud, not an easy feat. Go Jeff!

Zowie!

I'm anxiously awaiting the 210RTs I ordered last week. Eight days down and at least 3 months to go. Can't wait to hear what I've been missing.

When Jeff announced last year a price increase effective the 1st of this year, lots of people placed their orders before then to beat the increase, creating a backlog. I was aware of this before I ordered, so it wasn't a surprise.

Not sure when exactly, but sometime between the time I received the 210RTs last year and now Jeff moved the business from Wisconsin to S Carolina. I was wondering if may have come into play too. Bet that move was pain.

Earlier this year Jeff did me a real solid by making a couple of the discontinued 8HTs for me. He's a great guy. Wish the space I have would have accommodated the 10" version. I have that for the center channel and really like it in that duty. It was interesting reading all the comments people made about the dialog clarity, or lack thereof, for the movie Tenent. I had zero issues with the JTR. I don't recommend the movie though, except perhaps as a test for dialog clarity!

Anyway, here's to hoping your 210RTs ship early and are everything you're wanting them to be :)

Yep I think he moved around the Sept/Oct time frame and that probably contributed to (or possibly started) the backlog. There also may be delays from his suppliers like many other businesses are experiencing. Whatever the reason, I can't do anything about it so I'll just wait until they arrive. The good news is he hired Tony to handle emails and phone calls, so Jeff can concentrate on everything else.

I don't expect them to ship early but thanks for the thought. I'm hoping they'll ship on time, but I'm prepared to wait longer if necessary. I'm sure they'll meet my expectations, I'm just a little concerned about the front stage, how they'll blend with (or overwhelm) my center (Ascend Horizon with RAAL tweeter). I'm >90% music and listen using Yamaha's 9ch stereo (heresy to some, but sounds great to me) or up-sample to multi-channel, so I'll have to see how that goes.

That's great that Jeff's willing to build discontinued speakers. I've read nothing but good things about him. I've exchanged emails with him but I've only talked to him once when paying for my 2nd sub, so it was a short conversation.

Looks like JTR has something new going on! I just discovered this, hopefully Jeff and/or others can clue us in.

@tesseract
Dennis,
Here's some info from a knowledgeable poster on another site. I'm not on Facebook so I can't check the JTR FB group he mentions.

These are RTJ's (JTR reversed) 410RMs, 4 10" woofers, 22.5" wide with a massive 21" horn.
These will be the first offerings of RTJ, a new brand that caters to dealers. The first dealer is Dream Media. JTR will remain direct to consumer.
You can find more detail about them in the JTR Speaker Enthusiasts FB group.

@Jack1949 , goo info, thanks! It's great to see the company expand into the retail market.

Looks like it is the 410RT.
