What are you listening to right now?

Watching and listening to a St Paul and the Broken Bones show from ‘19. The Current (MPR) in Minneapolis has some fantastic live shows on their YouTube. They do a great job making them more cinematic than your typical stream.

Roon doesn't care much for the source file! Well Roon, if you can tell me where to buy a copy of the CD I gladly will!
I've had this and listened to it many times over many years. Originally purchased through iTunes before it was pulled from their offerings. It remains my favorite JB live album despite Roon's protestations.
Dynamic range is quite good. Perhaps that overcomes a few lost samples and bits?

This? https://shop.jbonamassa.com/products/sb-digital Seems to be in MP3 format only... I would convert MP3 to WAV or FLAC with something like Sox... That old iTunes version you have is most likely a DRM version...

Oh man, thanks so much for looking. Looks like all the JB digital stuff is MP3 320kbps. Don't mind the $10. Roon's still gonna tell me it's "Low Quality" though. :)
Interestingly this one is also not available on his site as a CD, as most are, from before and after.
It would be hard to believe it was never available in 16/44 CD format.

It is kind of odd seeing it only MP3s... Maybe it was "captured off the board" by a fan onto a DAT... Who knows...
I would not be surprised if apple didn't, for lack of a better word, "resample" an MP3 into a DRM-AAC back in the day...

And your welcome...

I used to see Walter in the HB back in the day... He played at a bar about a mile from where I worked... Surf City Cali...

@AudiocRaver glad to see you posting again! And posting in this thread too. One of your posts turned me on to Porcupine Tree. Great music.

Reminds me of something the B52's would do. Imagine that from Wayne of all people. :whistling:

@JStewart Porcupine Tree's surround mixes (their last 5 albums or so) are absolutely killer!

@Sonnie The B-52's, one of the most underappreciated bands of all time!!!

Trower followed Deep Purple onto the turntable on more than one occasion back in the day.
Never got to hear him play live as a kid, but did a couple of times at House of Blues in what what then called Downtown Disney, in maybe 2006 and 07. Another master of the Stratocaster.

Love me some Fender Jaguars, Telecasters and Stratocasters... And Gibson ES335s, SGs, Les Pauls and Firebirds too...
