I've had a pair of 12" Klipsch subs before, but I can't remember the model. Now, I am using Power Sound Audio PSA-XV15 original. I wish I could add a second!

As some of you guys know I have duo Kreisel dxd 12012 subs. Each sub has two 12" woofers. Now I saw a used dxd 808 that has two 8" woofers that I was looking at buying.
Now will the mix work well in using the four 12" with two 8"?
Maybe use the smaller for midbass module I guess or simply a bad idea?
that's what I had in mind. Since my avr has Subeq ht I'll stack the 12012 like Ken designed them and place the lesser at mlp. Audyssey will calibrate both appropriately one being lesser and greater?Place the lesser sub closer to you. I'd put it right next to the MLP (main listening position). This helps you keep the big dog subs roaring!
I know. I started this thread and wasn't sure if I should ask here or start fresh so moderators please place this in another thread if need be.This thread is really for people to post what type of sub(s) they own, so I'm not sure it's the best place to ask about something situation specific. You're likely to get more replies staring a new thread, but the short answer to your question is it depends upon what you're trying to achieve. Do you find a pair of 12012's lacking in some manner?

I don't think my 12012's are lacking. It's just that I found a new 808 for around $650 if I remember correctly so I figured why not if it will work.
looked it up and it's new for $680 plus $75 for the shipping. If I decide ill see if he can lower it some.I suppose you could take it in any direction you'd like. My comment was just the "thread drift" police speaking...
When you say "new", do you mean brand new? $650 is probably 1/3rd of what an 808 used to cost. For that price it might be worth owning just because.
Yeah I know what you mean. It sounds exciting but maybe not a good idea after all.I don't know if 'cancel out' is what would occur, but 'render superfluous' might be what happens. It would all depend on usage, location (relative to the listeners and the 12012's) and tuning really. A single 808 will run out of steam way before a pair of its larger brother would, so carefully balancing the three would be necessary in order for it not to negatively impact the 12012's.
I see but when using audyssey it's going to combine the FR and I'm afraid it might put a dent on the big dogs.Place the lesser sub closer to you. I'd put it right next to the MLP (main listening position). This helps you keep the big dog subs roaring!
Now if I used a Y splitter for the 12012 and 808 then that would be a problem because it would calibrate as one sub but, since my avr has SUBEQ HT then having two 12012 in the front of the room and an 808 near field that shouldn't pose a problem since Audyssey will calibrate them as individuals.
Am I correct on this?
Subeq HT sets the levels and distance and phase separately but the issue would be it will combine the FR for all subs (lesser and bigger subs).Yes, EQ the larger and smaller separate.

Is it ok like that or should I just not EQ the lesser sub at all?
I haven't used REW since I separated the subs. I need to try that when I have time and that's going to be hard with family and so much going on. I will eventually have no choice. That is a good question. You'll have to try both to get the answer. Are you using REW to verify Audyssey?
