University of Michigan accepted the Big Ten punishment.

The Big Ten, Michigan and Wolverines football coach Jim Harbaugh have ended their pending legal dispute over Harbaugh’s three-game “sportsmanship” suspension. A hearing on the matter had been scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday at Washtenaw County (Michigan) Court.

Harbaugh and Michigan will accept the Big Ten’s suspension of Harbaugh for alleged in-person scouting by staffer Connor Stalions. That means the coach will miss both Saturday’s game at Maryland as well as the Nov. 25 clash against rival No. 2 Ohio State.

In exchange, the Big Ten will end its investigation into Michigan on the in-person scouting matter. That seemingly ends any possibility of future penalties or suspensions, which the Big Ten had reserved the right to levy, at least during the 2023 season if additional information from the current NCAA investigation emerges.

Is a Gators win over FSU needed for for Alabama to get into the CFP? I’m going to have to root for the Gators next week just in case. Oh, the irony.

If Alabama does win over Georgia in the SEC Championship there’s going to be more than a lot of criticism and loud complaining about who’s in and who’s not in the CFP. We could potentially have :
Michigan or Ohio State undefeated. The other one loss vs a #2 or #3.
FSU undefeated.
Washington undefeated.
Georgia one loss to a #8 but quality wins over other ranked teams.
Alabama one loss to ranked Texas, but a win over Georgia.
Oregon also one loss and with 2 wins against ranked teams.

Good times for CFP committee members.

I can't believe I've been AWOL with this all year long. Believe it or not, what's even more strange is Angie and I have been out cruising on the Jeep for nearly every ballgame played during the day this year. We've been listening to Learfield Blitz on XMSirius and getting updates on all the ballgames. This weekend was pretty much the first ballgame I've watched from beginning to end this year. I still can't believe we pulled it out like we did. Leave it to the Iron Bowl to produce a wonky finish. At least we got this one to help with a fairly decent year... cause I think Georgia will pounce on us and win it all again.

Wow... Saban just keeps on ticking. I guess it's not quite time for Kirby to take over the reigns as the king of college coaches. I think it's coming, just not this year.

I really wasn't expecting what I witnessed... but our offense did what they did when they had to, as did our defense... playing lights out in the first half after that first drive. They gave up a few too many plays in the second half, but that's when our offense stepped up. No doubt Georgia's defense is not what it has been the last couple of years. Lookout though... they have a young defense for the most part.

Now... do we get left out of the playoffs? I don't see us jumping Texas since they beat us, and the only other way to get in is for FSU to get left out as an UNDEFEATED conference champion. Granted, I don't think they have an even remote chance of winning it all without their starting QB, but still... if it were Bama and I was put in the shoes of FSU, I would not be happy. I wouldn't want to be on that committee because they are going to catch it no matter what they do.

Hey... either way... we've had a great year considering where we were at the beginning of the year. These last two games will be great ones to remember.

A (not going to happen) easy fix to the committee’s decision dilemma would be a FSU Alabama play-in game for the 4th spot.
Next year we can commiserate over which teams get left out of the 12th spot.
