It turns out that its not all that bad iIf you can get buy the first 30 minutes of it. Those first 30 are brutally bad.

So here’s a film I wanted to like and just couldn’t. Then after frivolously discarding 3+ hours of what was then left of my life, I found I’m not alone.

I'm disappointed. I'm reading the book now and was looking forward to watching the movie.
But my wife will read the book after me, so maybe the movie will get better as it ages between now and then.

I can see the book being very compelling and who knows, you may like the film much more than I. If you get 45 min into it though and think “I gotta hang in there because it’ll get better“ then stop, it’s not changing.
Seems to be deemed good at rotten tomatoes and the IMDB rating so it has its supporters, but my thoughts were on par with the Brightside video.

I own it... but every time I sit down to watch, I talk myself into something shorter.

It's kind of like golf. 9 holes > 18 holes (tho I wish a course was really more like 12)

I think we started talking about two different movies. I was talking about Killers of the Flower Moon. Though we also loved Barbie once I caved and paid the WB extortion pricing.

It’s like LSU beating up on Alabama. The game is only 3-1/2 hrs but it feels like the whole day. You keep waiting and hoping for Alabama to pull it out, but they never make a move.
