Movie Roll Call: What have you seen lately?

I gotta watch it just to see why some think it's so bad. :sarcastic:
You like living on the edge Sonnie?? :p I'll have to check it out as well. We're all different and like different things. Its just the way people roll. :)

It’s like LSU beating up on Alabama. The game is only 3-1/2 hrs but it feels like the whole day. You keep waiting and hoping for Alabama to pull it out, but they never make a move.

Enjoy the show!
So, like any SEC game, deathly boring, never-ending, and painful to watch? ;)

I think we started talking about two different movies. I was talking about Killers of the Flower Moon. Though we also loved Barbie once I caved and paid the WB extortion pricing.
Nope... I ain't even thinking about watching Barbie... don't even care if it has a remote chance of being good... ain't watching it. :nono:

Hey now... watch it! Bama did beat LSU this past season.

So. I watched Texas Chainsaw Massacre for the first time - ever. Ashamed to say I've never seen it! Was in 4K. Actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would... quite a few of the presentation elements had a modern approach, which I appreciated.

I also watched a film called "Alone." It's a horror abduction flick... I thought it was great. The first third is a tad predictable... but some twists open up that make it particularly sadistic and creepy. It's only available in HD, but the image is reallllly nice minus some minor banding in dark scenes. If your a fan of horror/suspense and you don't mind being taken to the edge of what a sane person considers nuts, it's a recommend!

I watched The Creator tonight. Visually, amazing. Audio is excellent as well. The story is interesting, but it lacks in the execution department… I thought it ended up being predictable.

It’s a decent watch… has some great demo scenes.

Isn't there a movie out about something like this happening?

Yes… “Alone.”

Thankfully, the person trapped in real life was in a gondola and not exposed during the night hours! Still… couldn’t have been pleasant

I bought this on 4K, haven’t had a chance to watch it yet but plan to soon!

We watched an indie film last night called “The Fallout.” It’s about teens dealing with the trauma of a school shooting. It’s generally well executed, but it tries to tackle a bunch of social issues all at once. Trauma, PTSd, yes, but also sexuality, race… which is fine, but it was too much. If the director had just focused on one issue, it would have been a lot more palatable. The end result, though, felt a bit contrived and preachy.

Not a bad film, tho, if you’re into indie

Watched Gran Turismo last night, only on streaming but wow what a good movie. Definitely going to add the 4K version to my physical collection.

I own a copy... have yet to watch it. Sounds like I need to!

Gave this a watch yesterday, have not seen it since I purchased on 4K. Looks like it was made yesterday, the details in the costumes is amazing along with high detail in skin pores is so well done. The CGI shows a few small imperfections but not too many.

I still haven't seen this

They really loved it over at the Bright Side Home Theater podcast. Couldn't stop raving over the video quality of the restoration. I just can't get over my teenage self who ridiculed this movie when it first came out in the 90's. I suppose if I can find it on the cheap I will pick it up.

Yeah, DJ and the boys did a great job on that. I make a lot of purchases based on their reviews.
