NFL 2017 Season

from foxsports,

Jaguars select Blake Bortles starting QB heading into season.

Not sure if this is good news or not for the Jaguars. lol.

OOF! Spencer Ware is most likely done for the season. That really hurts but luckily we drafted Kareem Hunt so hopefully the rookie steps up. Looks like all of the rookie QB's struggled this week. Deshone Kizer and Deshaun Watson not looking good in the week 3 preseason games.

Whatever happened to Jamal Charles?

I guess I hadn't realized he was gone.

A few years ago I took him #1 overall in our fantasy draft and he had a TERRIBLE season. :gah:

When he's healthy he's a stud. Lifetime career 5.5 avg is astounding.

Texans were shutout yesterday in a 13-0 loss to the New Orleans Saints

Due to floods in Houston, per espn, "
Thursday's preseason game between the Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys, originally scheduled to be played at NRG Stadium, has been moved to AT&T Stadium."

Joe Haden sure would look good in a Chiefs uniform now that the Browns have released him. I doubt he'll be short on suitors.

Is Ware officially done?

The final pre-season game for the Texans vs Cowboys game was cancelled per the NFL.

from yahoo,
"It didn't take long for Joe Haden to find a new team following his release from the Browns.

The cornerback is expected to sign a three-year deal worth $27 million with the Steelers after Pittsburgh emerged as the favorite to land the veteran, ESPN and other outlets reported."

Patrick Mahomes made some incredible throws last night. I know it's only pre-season but I think this kids going to be a star in the league. Just the thing to get the Chiefs over the hump.

Very good arm.. Impressive for sure.

It's not really the arm that's been impressive. That was expected as his TT tape already showed. It's the launch angles and arm slot facing NFL defenses. It's how quickly he's learning the playbook. Pretty much everything to be honest. Oh yeah…I lied. That arm is IMPRESSIVE! :yay2:

The main thing is that he gets protection from his offensive line. That is key. If that falls, his arm will not be a big deal.. lol.

Is it key? It didn't seem like he had much time at Texas Tech before he was pressured. I'm thinking his average clean pocket was sub 3 seconds. I think we can provide that with our first team line. Sine you mentioned protection he's had few series with our first team line but yet he continues to make plays with guys who will no longer be NFL players. I guess it's a good trait to make these throws while running from pressure. :T

Agree, a versatile player is a productive player. :)

Well, time will tell that is for sure! :)

Maybe even someday other QB's are compared to gasp…Patrick Mahomes! On a serious note the kid looks good. I think we made the right decision in trading up for him. Time will tell but the future is bright here in KC at the leagues most important position. We haven't had a franchise QB since Len Dawson so we're hungry for one. Arrow is pointing up.

yeah, I agree, KC did a good job..

now, as for my hometown team.. time will tell and I am not that optimistic about Tom Savage. lol.
