I don't understand the sequence. If you are measuring from file the file to be used has to be passed to REW before starting the measurement so that it can configure itself to suit the file's sweep settings.
same here

use generator to save a sweep to a file
click measure
click from file
click open file and select the file generated in step 1
click start

get NPE

Code:
REW V5.40 Beta 35 running Azul Systems, Inc. JRE 1.8.0_412 64-bit on linux 6.8.12-amd64 Locale: language en, keyboard GB, UTF-8 on 1920x1200 at 96 DPI Running in /home/matt/REW

Message:
    java.lang.NullPointerException
Stack Trace:
    roomeqwizard.XE.A(y:2882)
    roomeqwizard.PL.K(y:1247)
    roomeqwizard.PL.run(y:1827)

It is fixed in beta 36

Hi John,

Setting the path to the mic cal file using the /audio/input-cal endpoint only seems to work after a restart.

This is only the case for existing inputs in the 'mic cal files' list under preferences. If I delete the input in that list first, restart and then set the path to the cal file, it seems to work as intended.

Also; would it be possible to add a 'Apply cal files' parameter to the /import/sweep-recordings/response endpoint?

Many thanks again.

If there are 5 measurement files and you open the overlays window, then in the distortion tab they will all be gray and cannot be activated.

Measurement are enabled on the distortion overlay if have the measure that has been chosen for plotting in the graph controls.

If I open the distortion tab in the main window, there are distortion graphs for all of the 5 measurements. What else needs to be done so that in the distortion tab in the overlays you can view and do some manipulations with the distortion graphs?

Works as expected for me. Changing the input cal settings doesn't have any effect on existing measurements, if that was what you were expecting?

Choose which measure you want to plot in the graph controls.

I found this. Thank you. I was left with the TD+N choice from the FSAF measurements. I changed it. But now that I have loaded the FSAF measurements, I need to switch measure to plot again, otherwise the plots are not active. Can REW print a hint message telling you to select one of the measure to plots if, after calling the distortion in overlays window, the plot area is empty?

No, I'm also talking about measurements imported after updating the cal file through the API. It only doesn't work here when the input is already listed as an existing input (but without a path to a cal file) in the 'mic cal files' list under preferences. Let me know if I need to list the steps more clearly..
.
Thanks for adding the 'Apply cal files' endpoint!

I can no longer move the measurements up or down; i.e., I want measurement 9 in position 8:

look at the position of the frequency cursor in this screenshot

now look at the its position in exported image
numerically correct, but the position of the lines is off

it would be nice to move the watermark to the center of one of the graphics as well (or both?)

I have added that for the next build.

on the WATERFALL graph, please duplicate the frequency axis towards the top, to make it easier to locate any frequency of interest without having to look at the bottom of the graph

Hi John,

A question with an idea I had, not sure what are your thoughts on this matter. I often use RMB + Ctrl in Impulse panel to find the distance corresponding to delays. For measurements with loopback I often drag all the way from t=0. Would it make sense (be possible) to add an option for choosing meters/centimetres as x-scale units when looking at impulse response view?

I noticed a bug or an issue with the equalizer in beta 35. For my sub, I use a MiniDSP. However, I use configurable PEQ with generic sometimes for MultEQ-X, and my configuration has no boost allowed. I wanted to see how this configuration would EQ a sub vs the MiniDSP, and I allow some boosts when calibrating a sub. I added some boosting back in the configurable PEQ, and applied it, but the EQ never used any boosts, but definitely needed some. I noticed that the individual max boost and overall max boost were set to zero in the main EQ section. However, those could no longer be changed. They were locked at 0.

It seems that, when switching to Configurable PEQ that has boosts set to 0, REW locked the individual max boost and overall max boost on the main EQ section, and cannot be changed for that measurement anymore. I tried reloading the file and the boosts stay locked at 0 even if I change the configurable PEQ in generic to use a 10 boost.

Hi John,

The SPL of an imported file seems to be calculated based on the bit-depth of the currently selected input? On Windows this seems to work as expected (24bit input leads to higher SPL), but on macOS selecting the Default Audio Input (listed as 24 bit in the bottom left corner) and importing a wav still results in the lower (16 bit) dynamic range. If I select a 'named' 24bit device and import the same file this results in a higher SPL.

To avoid this; would it be possible to look at the bit-rate of the imported file itself?

Can't get MacOS REW 5 40 Beta to startup after download and install. The icon very briefly appears and then disappears.
Ive tried multiple installs on Mac 14.5 Sonoma MacBook (Pro M1) . Any help would be great and appreciated.

Thanks
Dan
