Yes, it was a good listening session today. I started off with Steely Dan’s “Can’t Buy A Thrill” and away Roon Radio went with a little steering from me along the way.

Here’s a sample.

I know I’ve said before that Roon Radio does a good job, but here lately it seems like it’s doing an even better job sussing out music I like. Wanting to know If that was possibly true I turned to Google and came up empty.
Then I thought I’d try the all knowing, all seeing, ChatGPT…

ME: Does Roon radio algorithm make selections based in part on user choices?

SCARY COMPUTER: Yes, the Roon Radio algorithm takes into account the user's music choices when making selections. Roon Radio uses a machine learning algorithm that analyzes the user's listening history, along with the data from millions of other Roon users, to make personalized recommendations.
When you start Roon Radio, it will create a playlist based on the track or album you are currently playing. From there, it will suggest songs that are similar in genre, mood, and style, and it will also take into account your listening history and favorite artists. As you listen to the songs, Roon Radio will continue to refine its selections based on your feedback, and it will gradually introduce new and less familiar tracks to keep the listening experience fresh and interesting.
Overall, Roon Radio is designed to provide a personalized and enjoyable listening experience, and it uses a variety of factors, including your past listening choices, to make its selections.

Now I can sleep easy knowing there’s good tunes ahead before being permanently drawn into the collective. So there’s that.

I love how Roon picks new music for me. So glad I signed up for the lifetime Roon!

Has anyone used ChatGPT to create play lists? @JStewart, have you got into ChatGPT Prompt hacks and prompt/data injections?

Duke keeping me company.

The Beau Kavanagh album is interesting. The opener sounds like classic Stevie Ray, then it changes. I kinda skimmed through, but I’ll give it full attention soon. Some good tunes on there, indeed.
From Montreal. Have you seen them play?

Yes is in the top 5 all-time for me. Every listen is as fresh as the first time. A huge regret is never getting to one of their shows. Might not have remembered it very well if I had, anyway. At least that’s what I tell myself to soften the blow.

Duke‘s a cutie. Is there a story behind his name?

Good morning "J" . I have never seen them play. I dont even know if they are still a band. I missed a lot of big rock band concerts growing up in rural New Brunswick. Yes, Led Zeppelin, and Alice Cooper were the ones I lament over the most. Duke and his sister Daisy came over from a Newfoundland Ragdoll breeder that we got to know through family friends. My late wife named them. We had them three years before my wife passed. :)

Happy Friday morning! The weekend is almost here. I have a day off today and quite a bit to to, so what better way to get in the mood than this little pick-me-up inspired by 3db’s recent Ten Years After post?
