Something interesting in the news.

from cnn,

"Johnnie Walker, which is owned by liquor giant Diageo (DEO), said Monday that it will launch a special edition of its Black Label blend next month featuring the female logo.... Priced around $34, the special edition bottles will go on sale in the U.S. in March to coincide with Women's History Month and International Women's Day."

Wonder if the "Jane" bottle is as good as the original "Johnnie" bottle??? :)

Don't drink a lot of Bourbon, when I do I enjoy Knob Creek Vintage Reserve. Prices vary from $35-$50 depending on where and "on sale."
Mostly partake in Crown Royal Vintage Reserve. It's really good and $41 @ Walmart!

Thought about it for years but, since it's local, I always thought it couldn't be very good. I was wrong, quite tasty.

Big fan of the High West American Prairie!

You must live in Utah?

Yup, about 70 miles north of Park City.
This will not be my last bottle. Always in stock and reasonably priced.

We have good friends in Park City - get out there every once and a while.

Beautiful part of the country!

Anyone tried making whiskey at home?

I generally like my eyesight.

(just sayin' ..... :olddude:)

Never heard of it... never tried it!

I rarely stray into the blends. Give it a try and let us know how it is Dennis!

Stepping it up a notch. This is waiting for me when I get home.

Nice! If you would have brought that to Schaumburg, I might have stayed!

I just can't find any Four Roses around here. I guess I can console myself with "if you don't know what you don't know, you don't know what you're missing". Still, it doesn't sit well with me.

Do try it, Mark. There are several Four Roses products, this one hit the value mark, in my opinion. Just became available here in NE. Can you get it online?

Four Roses is great.

If any of you have access to Filibuster, try to find it. It is right up there with my favorites for neat or on the rocks with a splash!

On no, there'll be none of that. Utah is far too controlling to allow something like that to happen. Everything has to go through the DABC so the state can get thier cut. I suppose I could do a special order through the DABC but then I'd have to get a case and it would take at least 45 days.

GAH, that sounds convoluted, like many state laws are becoming/have become.

Our micro brew laws in Nebraska are under the same kind of gun, Mark. The big distributors have lobbied to direct all sales through their warehouses and logistics direction. It is just a bogus effort for the big dogs to dominate and profit from mom and pop operations, to stifle competition.

Yes, we have some pretty strange laws around here. Beer over 3.2% (4.0 ABV) is considered liquor. Don't really have any issues with the micro brewers here. In fact our local micro brewers may benefit greatly when the big boys decide it's not worth making 3.2, cause soon it will only be produced for Utah, Minnesota and Kansas. Then the micros will gain a huge amount of self space.

Heading to Total Wine in a little bit. I'll see if I can get a bottle of Four Rose and/or Filibuster.

You're in for a treat!

It did not disappoint!

Filibuster is legit.
