Apple iPhone 8 (2017) event

Hahaha! Really, what are you storing on your phone? The cloud is cheap so take advantage of it. I'm guessing Apple has fairly good servers.

The cloud is cheap, but why pay for a cloud when I can use my own server and have my own cloud. I just haven't had time to figure out how to install the app for UnRaid. Furthermore, I just switch from XFinity to U-Verse, and I can't access my Plex Server outside network. So, I'm working on that right now.

My iPhone is also due for a refresh... I have a 6... battery has been replaced once. Shattered the screen twice... it usually dies around 25% battery now. Constantly freezing.

Kills me to have to buy a new one, but it's time.

I've read similar rumors to JBrax... going to cost around $1200. The industry is going to push the price on these puppies. That's for sure!

Not to mention the carriers no longer offer a phone when you sign a new contract.

They really know how to squeeze every dollar from consumers.. :)

I'm starting to move toward the iPhone 8 in 256gb if they don't offer 128gb. One of the reasons being out of the purported phone sizes the 8 appears to only be a very marginal bit bigger than the 7S in physical size and smaller than the 7S plus and offers increased screen real estate. Don't want a big phone that's what tablets are for. Guess we will see soon.

I am interested as well. Let's see what happens.. ;)

All right ......I have decided to go all in and go with the IPhone X 256GB at $1149 & the new Apple Watch 3 Nike + GPS & Cellular.
I will be posting my unopened New Apple Watch 2 Nike + 42mm Space Gray Aluminum Case Anthracite/ Black Band up on ebay for $299.

That iPhone X sure is tempting! I told myself I wouldn't do it but she's purdy!

Bellevue, Washington — September 12, 2017 —
T-Mobile will offer Apple’s latest products starting on September 22, including the new generation iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, and Apple Watch Series 3, which adds built-in cellular to the world’s number one watch. To help Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) customers get started, T-Mobile will also offer Apple’s special introductory cellular trial. Customers will be able to pre-order iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus and order Apple Watch Series 3 beginning September 15 online, at participating T-Mobile stores across the country, and by calling Care (611 or 1-800-937-8997).

T-Mobile announces $300 trade-in deal for iPhone X and iPhone 8

T-Mobile was well prepared for today’s iPhone reveal, as the carrier has already publicly announced trade-in deals for Apple’s latest smartphone refresh. The carrier says it’s giving $300 to any customer who trades in an iPhone 6 or newer in good condition for an iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, or the iPhone X. For those interested in the latter, extra-costly device — which costs $999 for a 64GB model, or $1,150 for a 256GB model — a $300 credit should help ease the pain a little bit.

T-Mobile also says Apple is offering three months of free cellular service for the new LTE-equipped Apple Watch Series 3, which piggybacks off your plan by using the same phone number. After the promotional period for the Apple Watch ends, T-Mobile says unlimited talk, text, and data for the Series 3 will cost an extra $10 a month. Adding a Watch to your plan is done through T-Mobile’s Digits service, which is the same thing that lets your phone number migrate to other internet-connected devices, like watches or a work phone, or be shared with friends and family members.
It should be noted that this deal is only for T-Mobile customers who purchase a new iPhone on an equipment installment plan, or EIP. That means that just like the cost of the device is split up over 24 months (or some other payment periods), so too is the $300 T-Mobile is giving you.

Also important to remember is that an EIP financing plan is separate, but intertwined with, T-Mobile’s Jump program, its hardware upgrade program that’s similar to AT&T Next and Apple’s iPhone Upgrade Program. Most EIP-financed devices are eligible for Jump upgrades after the customer pays off 50 percent of the original device. Jump costs anywhere between $9 and $15 per month, so just make sure you understand all the intricacies of your T-Mobile plan, and know whether you’re planning on upgrading after a year to whatever the next iteration of the iPhone is that comes out next year.

My only concern about the Apple X is that it is glass on front and glass on back.. Do they have protective covers available?

It don't release until 11/3/17 so I am sure the market will be flooded by then.
Also they say the size is millimeters from the current iPhone 7 so those cases should suffice, at least until official cases release. They say the back glass is different and super strong?

hmm, I will get a case regardless. I don't want to spend top $$$ and then it breaks when I accidentally drop it and trust me, I will accidentally drop it!

Get an Otterbox, Ive had every iPhone Ive ever owned in one (my phones look brand new when I take them out of the case after 2years of use) and never had an incident were its broken after a fall. Im sure Otterbox will have one for the X right away.

That is a good suggestion.. Let me see what otterbox has to offer.. I do like the bigger size of the display for the Iphone X..

Let me offer something different and lesser known. Check out VRS Design. The Duo Guard Series case is what I have for my 7 Plus. Very clean, classy, and not a lot of added bulk. The Simpli Fit series is also very nice if you prefer the non kickstand version. I like the kickstand and it's very high quality metal and spring loaded.

Thanks. will take a look once available.. kickstand is a nice option. :)

I've had the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s and both were all glass. I had the Otterbox case and it protected them well. They looked brand new after taking them out of the cases.

I wanted to pre-order the iPhone X for my wife and I, but we've decided not to and wait for the next iPhone instead. We just got the iPhone 7 Plus with 256 GB. The only reason we went from the 6+ to the 7+ was to get the 256 GB. We take a lot of pics and the 16 GB would get full quickly.

I will update but will wait for the reviews to see which is better of the three (8, 8+, X).. I prefer the X but let me see what folks say.. :)

That's sounds like a good idea. Everyone wants the new and shiny electronics when they come out. I was disappointed with the Samsung S8+. Hardware wise was good, but the software was lacking. Several apps that I use kept freezing / crashing.

If the reviews are not good, I may get the 7 Plus.. I have a 5 now so even moving to 7 Plus is big for me. lol. :)

My wife and I had the 6+, but ours only had the 16 GB drive. So we always had to delete apps, pics or videos. So we got the 7+ with the 256 GB so now we've got lot of space and do not have to keep deleting anything.

We momentarily switch to the Samsung S8+ to test it out, but we didn't like it.

I used to be a big android user until I started using apps to control my home theater, and other devices. Apps on the iPhone just worked. The apps on the Android kept crashing or freezing. It was very annoying.

I really like the new iPhone X, but I rather spend that kind of money on other upgrades for the house for now lol.

My 5 has 16gb drive so I always get the storage full message.. The next phone will need 256gb.. Just the question of which one???

Do you like your 7 plus?

I may seriously consider the 7 plus if the 8, 8 plus, and X get terrible reviews from end users.

I'm begrudgingly going to buy an 8...my 6 is beat to shreds. Battery life if terrible, lots of freezes... ugh. :spend:
