Movie Roll Call: What have you seen lately?

I have to add that movie, The Intern, to my watch list.. Mostly due to Anne Hathaway. :)
Yeah she is also great in that movie. A classy lady I think.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Watching the HDR version on my Oppo UDP-205 and LG C7 now. Looks fantastic!

Watched "The Founder" on netflix. Man, they are not kidding when they say business is ruthless. wow.

Lion is one movie I highly recommend. It's based on a true story and it's such a touching film.

I agree. I saw "Lion" sometime back on netflix. Excellent movie.

Agree about Lion. Great show.

We watched Deepwater Horizon last weekend. I don't know how accurately the events were portrayed, but I enjoyed learning more about that disaster and the people involved. Mark Wahlberg tends to be hard to understand sometimes though.

We also watched A Monster Calls. Very interesting movie, and I rather enjoyed it, but it is rather depressing so not the movie for an upbeat night!

Been catching up on this season of "The Strain". Must have accidentally removed it from my DVR as I was unaware it was back on. It's been a solid show, almost caught up.

I will have to add "The Strain" to my watch list.

Death Note on Netflix was a fun watch.

I also liked Death Note but to be honest nothing beats the original anime version. :)

We watched Guardians of the Galaxy 2 last night. It was good fun, and the soundtrack had some great moments. I think I will have to watch it again after rewatching the first to refresh my memory.

Watched The Belko Experiment. Gratoites violence.
Also watched Going in Style, a comedy of sorts. Found both to be decent movies for there respective categories.

hmm, have to add "The Belko Experiment" to my watch list due to the Gratuitous violence. lol.

Alien Covenant was good however I did not know it had something to do with Promethius.

Waiting on the Mail-Lady to drop Guardians 2 off right now. Checked and the Pop Corn has been restocked........

Black Death was good. It is interesting how back in the 13th century there was so much violence especially if the town thought you were a witch.

I just got done watching Anatomy of a Murder on HULU, and I have to say the video quality was outstanding for a black and white movie from 1959 let alone any currently released movie. I highly recommend it to everyone to watch. The blacks are excellent, and the movie is almost 3d like on our Samsung 4k FP. Very surprised as to the steamed quality of some old black and white movies. I don't know if the version being shown is up scaled by HULU or if it was remastered, but it was great. I can't comment on the audio as we used our TVs speakers due to everything being packed away.

Watched "King Arthur" solid film. At times it could be confusing as they referenced other characters such as lady of the lake etc. without any explanation as to who they were.

I liked it. A lot of back story on the bunch. Very ...over the top fighting sequences. Sound track was ok, nothing remarkable. No 'making of' extras. I have just watched it once so far. A lot of the computer generated stuff mostly for the kiddies tho. IMHO the first one was loads better but this one helped fill in some gaps.

The old film Excaliber was good on the story about that.

How was it?
I thought it was great. Not much of a drop off from the original. IMO it might have been funnier than the first. The 4K version is jaw dropping with the vividness of the colors and the Atmos soundtrack was just as impressive.

Picked up the four Pirates of the Carabean movies at BB on blu-ray for $32. Watched the first one but not sure what order the others go in? Anyone know?
