Movie Roll Call: What have you seen lately?

Watched The Accountant on Blu-Ray. Really enjoyed it.

One of Ben Afflecks best movies.

Ended up pulling a doubleheader last night with The Hitman’s Bodyguard and The Dark Knight both in 4K UHD. I wasn’t expecting much with The Hitman’s Bodyguard but was surprised as it was pretty good. Several times throughout I found myself laughing out loud. Definitely worthy of a rental. As for The Dark Knight…OH MY GAWD! I’ve seen the movie at least 5 times and this was easily the most impressive viewing to date. Some real wow moments especially during the IMAX scenes. I can honestly say the video is absolutely jaw dropping. As for the audio it’s just as impressive and the addition of Atmos even though it isn’t truly Atmos the upmixer did well enhancing the additional channels. A must have for anyone setup for 4K.

Last night, we watched an animated movie called "In this corner of the world".

Very touching movie about the hazards of living thru war..

Saw The Ritual and Under the Shadow on Netflix. The Ritual had great bass and made us just jump from time to time. Under the Shadow I do recommend. A hidden horror gem from Iraq.

Watched Wind River.

Aside from one little slip-up (graduation picture of daughters at the end of the film)... I thought this move was fantastic. Audio is WOW.

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back was really good. Wife and I liked the plot.
I don't remember much of the original though other then the roar of his car.

We watched The Great Wall last Friday. Fantastic movie that was incredible in HDR on my LG C7. The only complaint was that I thought it was a bit short - 90 minutes. I guess I'm too accustomed to 2+ hour movies nowadays.

Watched Wonder tonight. Unexpected but great movie that hit us all in the feels! Might have shed a tear or two.

Viva Zapata! today, never even heard of it but caught it on TCM this afternoon.

The high school hockey tournament is going on right now so I haven't watched any of the new movies I received lately.

Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life. I thought it was pretty good. I did notice a bit of noise in this film though. Enough to make me go through my settings and make sure everything was shut off.
