Movie Roll Call: What have you seen lately?

Watching "Rupture" Interesting movie. Found the ending lacked luster. It had potential as a horror flick, but seemed to fall kinda flat at the end...perhaps they are doing sequels. Don't rush to see it or buy it.

We watched The Shallows tonight. 4K/HDR was impressive... the movie was not that inspiring. So so.

It's good to see this thread again! At the end of the day movies and music is the meat and taters of why we're here. Last movie we watched was Lion and it was great. It's easy to see why it was nominated for so many awards.[/QUOTE

I enjoyed this based on True Story film also. Amazing tale of an incredible journey in life.

Just watched Arrival last night. A great story with a killer audio track that had some really deep bass to it.

Took in one of my favorite genre's, the no-brainer action flick: Knight and Day. It tries to be a romantic comedy, but I feel too much punching and kicking gets in the way. No matter. The punching, kicking, and more provide plenty of fun and laughs.

Allied. Was okay, I guess.

This was pretty good last night... one I'd like to see again.

I'm going to try and watch Get Out tonight. Everyone raves about it so I'm sure it's really good.

I liked this movie - simple mindless fun!

Watched "Get Out" last night... held together pretty well. Overall, enjoyed this movie!

We pulled a double header last night and watched The Great Wall and Morgan. I thought Morgan was just ok and it's downfall being way too predictable. It was just a rental so no real loss. The Great Wall on the other hand while it had its flaws was a blast. Unfortunately my video store didn't get any 4K copies so I was forced to watch the regular Blu-ray. I know…first world problems. I've got to say the Atmos track was one of if not the best I've experienced on my setup. The use of the overhead speakers was at times flat out spectacular. The colors of the uniforms was also a treat and I can only imagine what they would look like in 4K utilizing HDR/WCG. I think I'll be picking this up so I can compare.

I feel like I need to overnight an emergency intervention copy of "The Great Wall" to your home! :nerd:

DO IT!! You've got the address! How about that scene where the soldiers are scuffling about above? My wife and I were both amazed at how realistic it sounded.

I've not seen the film yet... nice to know the Blu-ray copy still carries Atmos, though. Sounds like that was a "lucky for you" moment yesterday! ;-)

It's a great Atmos demo and sounded really good turned up. It will also give your subs a good workout. The story is ok just don't over analyze and enjoy it for what it is.

I'll snag a copy from RedBox.

I find, the older I get (and less time I have), the more intolerant I am of middling stories. That being said, if the story is remotely interesting AND the audio is fantastic... well... that makes for a fun few hours!

I agree and can relate but will make exceptions for audio tracks that are above and beyond.

Twelve O'Clock High

Saw Get Out and loved it.
