Movie Roll Call: What have you seen lately?

Eddie and the Cruisers! That brings back some memories!

After watching a true story on YouTube about the Cocain Bear, I watched the comedy movie about it today.
Was the movie any good? I figured it would be a good rental if anything. lol. :)

I would say a good rental...then if you really like it you can buy and only lose the rental fee.
Thanks for the details. Will take a look.

Avatar: The Way of Water - kicking myself for purchasing this digitally. Maybe I’ll come around but right now I don’t believe it was worth the price. Visually and audibly it was top shelf. Story wise it was a bit sub standard IMO. Way too long with portions where you could have easily taken a nap. And the writing was sub standard as we found ourselves calling out “predictable” over and over. Personally I can see how it won the Best Visual Effects Oscar and a nomination for sound. But I cannot fathom how this got a nomination for Best Picture. I’d give it a 6.5/10 but as I said, I may come around and bump it up later. Right now it’s just a ‘meh’ purchase.

I very much enjoyed the movie, and thought the movie was perfect. A different type of Movie than Maverick was but much better in every respect IMO. The only thing I can say is I believe this is a movie that deserves the biggest screen you can fit in your room. My 86" FP was def no where near as big of a screen as needed for this movie. I need my 200" screen again.

We went to see it via the Austin laser imax, Dolby cinema and Dallas screen x. Overall wonderful. It is just that one moment in the film is just too heartbreaking so we can just never watch it again at home. We are good. 3 times just to experience it in the different formats and because we are both avid swimmers and divers were enough for us.

And we loved the line in the water "What is this finger/hand language? we don't understand what you are saying!". I'm sure every scuba diver in the audience loved that bit! A magic moment to us from Jim.

I watched Hobbs & Shaw last night on BluRay which has an Atmos soundtrack. They make good use of it in this films. The one liners coming out of that show kill me.

Watching a classic...THE BLUES

Watching a classic...THE BLUES BROTHERS!

This deserves a much bigger thumbs up ...

I need to get Animal House too.
That makes two of us. I bought "Blazing Saddles" a few years back and I heard a rumor that its not available for resale anymore because of its racial content. I dont know if that's true or not.
