Movie Roll Call: What have you seen lately?

On Christmas day, we went and saw "Avatar 2" in the theater. Very impressed with the cinematography. A whole new look from the first one which was forest oriented while the second one is water oriented. Highly recommended.

I really want to see this one. Does the film feel like 3-hours or does it keep you engaged enough to not notice the time?

I would recommend going to the bathroom prior to the movie and if you get a drink, get a medium or small size. Last thing you want to do is leave in the middle to go to the restroom. lol.

The movie is very long and while I understand the need to show the water footage at it's best, lot of it could have been cut to be honest. It would not have taken away from the storyline..

The action scenes do go fast and that does make the movie go quick..

I will say this, go see this in the big screen. I didn't do 3D so I just watched it in regular but for the whole water sequences, definately, the bigger the screen the better.

Hmmmm… go to a dirty movie theater with bad sound and/or video, where you cannot pause a movie, and you have noisy neighbors sitting next to/behind you or wait until you can watch it at home in a properly calibrated theater? I’ll go for option 2 please!

yes, but when you have kids who want to go out and "experience" it in the big screen, sacrifices have to be made. :) Sadly, not everybody appreciates staying inside to watch it. lol. :)

Thanks for the advice! While I usually wait for movies to home-release to watch I do think the massive water scenes might be better served on a more gigantic screen.

I replaced my DVD copy with a BluRay copy of this and watched it last night

Glass Onion - enjoyed it very much! It is now the third most watched film of all time on Netflix.

Favorite line was this “It’s a dangerous thing to mistake speaking without thought for speaking the truth”

Watched Violent Night in 4K on Kacape last night… loved it. Solid action. Great humor… and they push the envelope just enough to keep the longs fresh and surprising.

This will be a popular disc!

I went to college with the Director (and writer) of Moon... David Bowie's son, Duncan Jones. Didn't know him well, but met him several times. Very nice guy, reserved.

That's a fun movie - well done.

I watched a cheesy sci-fi on Prime the other night called "The Tomorrow Wars"

I watched this the other night,

I'm late in starting this series but I've started "Treadstone"

Not a movie. Think we need to start a thread on TV series? “TV Series: What are you watching?” I’ve been starting separate threads for the series that I’ve been watching.

I agree whole heartedly. It would be a welcomed thread Im sure.

Watched “The Menu” last night. It was definitely different but enjoyable. Gorgeous picture!
