Movie Roll Call: What have you seen lately?

I watched Bullet Train on K-scape in 4K. GORGEOUS film... the colors are mesmerizing. Also, a fun watch. Two thumbs up!

I also convinced some family - spanning 3 generations - to watch Horrible Bosses. I warned them it was a tad raunchy... BUT, I'd forgotten how raunchy! Despite a few awkward moments and some ribbing from family, there's was a lot of laughter. That said, I need to screen my comedies better (or consider the audience better!) :gulp:

Jurassic World: Dominion - this one has some good actions scenes and LFE but I think it may be time to put this stuff to rest - 2.5/5.

Lol, been there and done that!

We watched After Yang last night on the Kaleidescape. @Todd Anderson you may want to check this one out for your Atmos demo list. We don't have Atmos installed yet, but the audio was imaging all over the place even on 5.1. I can't imagine this wouldn't be awesome in Atmos.

A24 is really putting out the best content these days. They refuse to produce anything cookie cutter. They don't do popcorn flicks. They are actually producing character-driven cerebral art within every genre. Just incredible stuff all around from this studio. Glad to see someone is still producing interesting content.

That's not to say I don't enjoy turning my brain off now and then and watching stuff explode and fly around the room. But I am very much into the art of cinema as a storytelling format and a visual art form, and too many movies have nothing to offer but great CGI anymore. A24 is making content you talk about for weeks, stuff that actually affects you and makes you think. I appreciate that.

I watched "Fall" in 4K on kscape. Loved it. It's also out on Blu-ray and streaming services in 1080p.

If you're looking for a fun watch with a few twists and turns... it only runs about 1hr 30 min. Thumbs up!

We watched this today. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

I couldn’t wait very long. This morning I upgraded my Pulp Fiction to the new 4K HDR remaster on Kaleidescape and watched after I did my bookkeeping emails for the day.

Holy. Cow. This is a master class on how to do a remaster. It looks astonishingly beautiful. Just gorgeous. A testament to the quality of properly lit and exposed film.

Great flick! Highly recommend.

Travis and I are hosting the director, Patrick Read Johnson, on AV NIRVANA Live, tomorrow night at 8pm ET

I'm working my way through this..

I'm on the home stretch now with the last three episodes left to watch. Visually, the first six in this chapter are stunning, far far better than the DVDs. I'm disappointed however with the Dolby 7.1 sound track. I thought they would have improved it going from DVD to BluRay but this is not the case. I'm hoping the last 3 sound better.

Alright. Hate to be “that” guy, but I watched Black Adam in 4K on k-scape and, wow, the movie is boooring. It’s reference audio and video, but its two hour run time was about as unoriginal as they come. Snooze-fest if you ask me.

Heard that about this one back when it was in theaters. I think I recall it being said that the first half hour or so was good and then the Xanax kicks in for the rest. Love the Rock but this one was always going to be a ‘wait until it’s on HBO’ movie.

That box set is gorgeous. Unfortunately, to get the sound boost, you'll need to step up to the more recently released 4K discs with Atmos.

I've assumed that was the case, which is why I've yet to drop the cash on it over at Kaleidescape. Warner needs a reality check on their pricing.

Or the stupidly high pricing could be more of their purposeful tanking of the product, like killing off Batgirl and all those other projects.

Let me do you a favor: don’t buy it

Ended the Star Wars by watching "Solo" last night.

Fantastic looking remaster. Thanks for those screen grabs! The burger and fries look real enough to eat : )
I'll have to pick this up on disc.

It was Christmas, Die Hard. Duh!

A few days ago we also watched Black Adam on HBO. It was ok. But not ok enough for me to want to buy it.

Watched Glass Onion last night. This was really enjoyable!
