Movie Roll Call: What have you seen lately?

Watched The Martian again last night. I was really hoping his potato crops wouldn’t die this time.

Ok. We watched Speak No Evil. Definitely entertaining. It really flew by! Fun watch.

Gotta say… the couple from London… there were quite a few moments where mannerisms, facial expressions… even some of the dialog made me feel like they were actually:

We watched "Late Night with the Devil." I'm going out on a limb here... but I think this is my favorite movie release of the year. Partly because it's a well executed horror/suspese film. That's a rarity on its own... but also because it captures the vibe of the 70s so well.

The movie drew me in - and I think I helped with the process, allowing my head to remember a time when we had limited exposure to things. The world was a more of a mystery pre-internet... and keeping that in mind helps to frame the intensity and mystery of the evening the late night show was trying bring to its audience.

For me, A+. Loved it.

We watched Strange Darling last night. What a fantastic thriller. The cinematography is glorious, shot on 35mm film, the colors are so rich and full, and there are a lot of very colorful scenes. Interestingly, this film is Giovanni Ribisi's debut as Director of Photography. He nailed it.

The story has some very unexpected twists and turns. Loved it.

After hearing @JonnySpeakers talk about it over the weekend, I popped in Mission: Impossible - Fallout. What a fun ride, and the Atmos is demo worthy. Especially the climactic helicopter scene. Great stuff!

What amazes me is how much of his own stunts Tom Cruise does, as well as the practice and setup for just one scene that is done.

Was that your first viewing?

Oh no, I’ve seen it a few times. I really enjoy rewatching movies to see what I didn’t notice the first time.

Wait until you get in your 60s... then you'll be watching them again because you can't remember any of it. :olddude:

That’s part of the beauty of aging, Sonnie… you can re-live newness without ever really changing anything!

haha, this is so true, don't even need to be in your 60s. I'll remember bits and pieces of a movie or TV show I haven't seen in a while, then when I sit down to watch it again, I'm thinking I don't remember any of this..lol.
What's worse is when you "think" you've never seen something before and 30 minutes later you realize you have seen it before.

So true. So PAINFULLY true

I’ll be watching this and Strange Darling tonight. Looking forward to both!

I'd have to watch these in a room all by myself.

Both movies were fantastic. Thanks for the recommendations!
