The OFFICIAL 2017 College Football Talking Smack Thread!

Our new QB gets to strut his stuff Saturday against NC State! Finally get to see just how good he's gonna be! Our O-Line should be able to keep that defense off him. They say he is a great passer. We will see.

Go Noels!!

I am at least glad that he is getting a few weeks to prepare.

I truly hope he ends up being the real deal... who knows... maybe even better than his predecessor.

CHOP CHOP!

I know you have to develop as a new player and the "Psyche" involved is what coaching is all about. But Jimbo really does hype this guy as potentially better than all of them! Makes me want to see him in action. We can hope. Maybe he's not just trying to instill some confidence him. He certainly has some big shoes to fill.

I will be rooting for him all the way... until he plays Bama again... of course.

Lol, I don't expect it to come to that...but you never know. I think by the end of the season, with players having had plenty of playing time together, that the outcomes will be completely different. Once a team jells, they become a new breed! And boy does Bama have some talent.

I am actually a little worried about Bama this year. We are due for a down season and I think our defense is suspect this year, particularly in the secondary. I know we had a good game against FSU, but look what Colorado State did to us in the second half... they passed right down the field on us and we couldn't stop them.

I am also not 100% sold on our offense either. Hurts still hasn't learned out to pass it. I know we haven't needed him to pass that much yet, but when some team comes along and stops our run game, oops... now we are not sure what he can really do passing, and he hasn't looked the best thus far.

I dunno... maybe I am being too much of a pessimist, but it's just what I am seeing thus far. Of course the best coaches and analyst are the ones sitting in their recliners typing on computers every night... we know more than the professionals. :whistling:

I think Missouri might be in the market for a new HC soon. Since Gary Pinkels retirement the program has regressed quickly. It’s pretty sad really considering where we were just a few years ago winning SEC titles. What’s Chip doing these days?

How about them Troy Trojans!!! Wow... never would have thought they would beat LSU. I figured they would give them a good game for sure, but just did not think they would win. Awesome!

We have sold firearms to several of the players at Troy... have a good time talking to them about football all along. Really like our new coach Neal Brown... fairly new anyway. He's been in the shop a few times as well.

Oh... and ROLL TIDE ROLL!

Me...I'm settling for the win against Wake Forrest yesterday after the complete melt down we've had this season. I think our QB will get better as the season goes. I see potential, but just making too many Freshman mistakes.

Go Noles!

Oh boy, huge upset with Iowa St taking down Oklahoma! Nobody seen that coming.

Been outside working... my wife just told and I was shocked. Seems like there is always some big time unexpected upset of a few of the top teams every year. Hope Bama isn't next in line.

It started out not looking like it would be a competitive game. I almost changed the channel glad I stayed with it. Heckuva game.

Florida St. playing a good one with Miami right now.

Wow, just WOW! Miami and Florida St. with another amazing game.

Cyclones baby!!

FSU has just imploded! I can't believe we let that game get away! Why we didn't double cover their best receiver at all on that last drive is just unbelievable. He is their go to guy and we just gave it away with single coverage.

I was surprised Iowa State won against Oklahoma. 38-31

That was a very disappointing FSU loss there... just unbelievable. I thought surely they had it in the bag and they blow it.

Oklahoma gets upset... and Michigan gets upset. The Oklahomie upset was a surprise, but I felt like MSU could beat Michigan.

The Tide struggle late with the Aggies, but managed to pull it out. That defense for the Aggies is much improved over previous years, no doubt.

I think we still have 15 undefeated teams thus far this year.

I would not be surprised to see Clemson jump Bama in the next few games.

Two SEC teams in the top 4. If it ends up like this (a tall order for Georgia and Bama to beat Auburn I think).... but if it does end up that Bama and Georgia are in the top four and play for the SEC championship... well... think about it... practically 3 playoff games to win the championship. Bama and Georgia will play their 1 vs 4 playoff game before the playoff begins. The winner will have to do it two more times to bring home the trophy.

Well... it appears Maryland is onto their 4th QB this season.

Starter that led them to victory at texas: Torn ACL. done

Highly recruited Freshman backup: Torn ACL. done

Barely serviceable 3rd stringer: Injured last game: status unknown

4th Stringer: Has he ever taken a snap? Who knows.

:gah:
