Late February in Florida and the oak trees behave badly and I have a particularly ornery one in the front yard. I tell myself cleaning up after the thing is good exercise. I used to say the same about shoveling snow. Both are outrageous lies.

Anyway, one thing yard maintenace is good for is listening to music. Today the theme leaned toward southern rock and ROON Radio was on a roll.

Loved the Guess Who tracks it through into the mix. That AI is really getting to know me.

Started off this morning with a couple from @3dbinCanada ’s recent sessions

Have I mentioned before this Crown Lands album art looks very Roger Dean-esque? Apologies if I have. Fitting for the genre, too.

I’d bookmarked this newer Collective Soul release and gave it a first listen just now.

Very nicely done. I’ll have to look up the story on this recording. Seems like it’s done in a small venue. Includes a bunch of their well known tunes. I’ll be revisiting it before too long for a second helping.

How do you like Eli De Mon and Crown Lands?

Both good and both took a couple playings to more fully appreciate. They were added to the library so I don’t lose track of them.

I think Roon Radio will give artists in the library a little more weight when it creates a playlist.

When Eli De Mon finished up last time , Roon followed with these, among others, for a very enjoyable session.

SHAMELESS SELF-PROMOTION TIME

For all fans of power-pop and rock, my band from 20 years ago got all the members together during the pandemic to drink together over Zoom for a weekly happy hour, which turned into about 60 new song ideas and at least one new album, which dropped on the digital streaming services today! Check it out!

The album began as a track-by-track response to Liz Phair's Exile in Guyville album, which was itself a track-by-track response to The Rolling Stones' Exile on Main Street. We had to cut it down to 12 tracks, but each one is written from the point of view of the bumbling loser idiot "guys" Liz Phair was singing about on her album.

Also, if you dig it and would like to grab a copy on vinyl, let me know. We did a limited pressing of 200 copies, sure to be collector's items.
