Movie Roll Call: What have you seen lately?

Watched Scoob a couple of days ago. It was ok. Almost fell asleep during the middle of it.

Yesterday, being the Fourth of July and all, we watched the Independence Day movies.

Yesterday we watched Hamilton. Considering it was a capture of a live performance, it wasn’t too bad. Much better than other similar productions I’ve seen.
Last night we rewatched The Fifth Element. I hadn’t watched the UHD remaster yet, and let me say, it’s well worth it. What has always been a gorgeous film with amazing sound has really been taken up a few notches with the remaster. Film grain is still prevalent, but not noisy. Just a beautiful transfer.

I've had my copy of this sitting on the shelf for quite some time. I need to make time to watch it.

I just finished The Outpost. I thought it was a pretty decent movie that could have been a bit better with a larger budget. I'd give it a 7 out of 10.

Ford v Ferrari - I enjoyed this one and the audio was pretty decent.

As a car enthusiast I can't believe I STILL haven't seen this film!!!!

Last night I watched the new Charlize Theron action flick "The Old Guard" on Netflix. Honestly it was one of the better action films I've seen in a while!
Highly recommended!

I saw it yesterday as well, I also enjoyed it. Highly recommended.

If you have Hulu check out Palm Springs. It was fantastic!

I just saw the ad for Palm Springs! Too bad I don't get Hulu :justdontknow:

I'm really amazed and happy to see such high quality productions coming from streaming platforms.

The Old Guard - I'm with everyone else in that it was very good! :T

This afternoon I was working on an issue I was having with the HDFury Diva - seemed like a handshake problem. Solved the problem and then watched Greyhound to verify it was fixed. Greyhound was an awesome movie with excellent LFE.

As for the HDFury issue, apparently you cannot use HDMI cables shorter than 6 feet or you will possibly suffer from what seems to be handshake issues. But that's for a different thread.

Turns out I did not fix the handshake issue completely. Worked fine for 24Hz content but when I switched to 60Hz content the handshake issue reappeared. Swapped out my last short cable with a 6 foot one and all seems fine now.

Watched 6 Underground last night. Enjoyed this Ryan Reynolds Netflix original as much as The Old Guard. The beginning kind of reminded me of Baby Driver. Good flick though!

We watched The Old Guard last night and also enjoyed it.

We watched Greyhound last night and found it boring. My gf fell asleep and I just sat there waiting for the good stuff to happen.

I also watched Artemis Fowl the other day on Disney+. I thought it was a series, so I was thinking “this is going to be pretty good” but then I realized that it was over and that was all there was. I’d give it a B- tho. It was entertaining, looked great, sounded like Disney, clean but a little weak.

Over the weekend I watched "The Vast of Night," an Amazon original. It was a nice treat seeing a quality sci-fi indie film. These don't happen too often.

Just finished this and really enjoyed it. Low budget but high quality script.

Watched The Rental last night and enjoyed it. Makes you think a bit about renting a house when going out of town.
